Evolve Spring Hockey

This Spring Program was originally the Grizzly Spring Program.  The success of our Spring Program led to the formation of the Grizzlies Hockey program and now the Evolve Hockey Company.  The Rochester Coalition has partnered with Evolve Hockey to offer this years Spring Hockey Programs to more youth players.  Spring can be one of the best development times of the year as players are more relaxed and encouraged to try new things.

We hope you are able to join us!

Below are few changes over previous years programs.

1.  All Programs will be run during the week.  Due to the number of players playing on Spring Hockey Tournament teams, we have moved all our Spring Programs to week nights.

2.  The Spring Program for Mites and Squirts consists of two clinic options:

Option One consists of one 1.5 hour Session per week. Clinic (45 min.) and One 4v4 game (45 min).  (Red Mite / Squirts clinics are all 1.5 hr/wk).

Option Two consists of one 1 hour Session per week.  Clinic (30 Min)  4v4 game (30 min).

The Pre Mite Program will consist of one 1 hour session per week.  30 min clinic and 30 min game.

All Sessions will be run by Evolve staff.

3.  For those playing spring sports, there will be makeup’s if you miss your session.

4.  Groups as follows:  (Mite Blue/White), (Mite Red / Squirt), (Squirt) and (Pre Mites).  Register for the group that best fits for your player.  Clinics and 4v4 games will be sub divided by age and ability.

5.  Session size is limited so please register early.  Program runs from the week of April 13th through week of June 8th. Rochester Coalition Announcement

Regional Teams for 2007 and 2008 AAA Teams

New for the 2020 - 2021 hockey season we will be offering a new regional training model for our 2007 and 2008 AAA teams.  This new training model is used by many of the top Tier I programs in the country. The idea behind this training model is to shift the teams practices/training to the weekend which will allow elite players from across Upstate New York to be a part of these teams without requiring the stress of weekday commutes.  It will also allow families to have the flexibility to attend additional skills training during the week with whichever training company they choose based around what fits their family schedule the best. More information will be available soon regarding these regional teams! If you would like more information about this model, please feel free to reach out to our hockey director Glenn Collins:

* As part of our focus on kids and player development The Rochester Coalition will be adding Development Coaches this season.  (Future Announcement)

Since its formation 3 years ago, The Rochester Coalition has become the area’s premier player development program.  The Coalition began as a working relationship between Tier I Rochester Youth Hockey and the Tier II Rochester Grizzlies Hockey Associations.  By adding working relationships with Evolve Hockey for team and individual player development and Bill Grays for Learn to Play and Pre-Mite Programs, the Coalition is now ready to take our program to the next level.

ROCO has had 17 division 1 commitments and 6 players on the NHL Draft Central Scouting list over the past three years.  In addition, 33 players have gone on to play at either Prep Schools or Junior Teams.  Every year, the ROCO message remains constant: moving players on to their next level (PREP, Junior, or College) and providing great exposure through the Beast.

Rochester Youth – Rochester Grizzlies Announcement

Rochester Youth – Rochester Grizzlies Announcement

Rochester Youth Hockey is pleased to announce our Tier 1 teams will continue play in the Beast National Division for 15, 16, and 18u. The Beast was created in 2017-2018 for some of the most prestigious programs at the midget level. Teams with charters in the Beast National Division include ROCO, North Jersey Avalanche, Yale Youth Hockey, Neponset Valley River Rats, Springfield Rifles, Selects Academy, Maine Nordiques, Mount St Charles, and Connecticut Riverhawks.

The Beast National division is the premier midget league in the country when it comes to exposure and commitments to NCAA schools. Every national beast program has countless amounts of committed kids from the league. The league includes showcases in which national division teams play each other to seed for the end of October playoff which is a win and advance format. This year our ROCO 18u team won the National division defeating Selects Academy in the final 3-1.

ROCO has had 15 division 1 commitments and 6 players on the NHL Draft Central Scouting list over the past three years.  In addition, 33 players have gone on to play at either Prep Schools or Junior Teams.  Every year, the ROCO message remains constant: moving players on to their next level (PREP, Junior, or College) and providing great exposure through the Beast.

In 2020-2021, we look forward to more success within the league as well as more exposure for our players which we consider the biggest part of the National division. It is an honor to be a part of this league and we are thrilled for the coming year.

ANNOUNCEMENT

ROCHESTER COALITION ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Rochester Coalition midget program has experienced tremendous success in its first three years as a program.  Continuing to build on that success, the Rochester Coalition will continue to offer Tournament Bound teams at both the Tier 1 and Tier 2 levels for 14U, 15, 16U and 18U levels.  The Tier 1 teams will play in the highly regarded Beast National Division. The Tier 2 teams will have the option to play in the Beast Showcase division.

Looking ahead to the 2020-2021 hockey season, we are proud to announce some exciting changes for our Roco Midget Program.  Starting this year, Kyle Quick will be taking over as the midget director for all Roco midget teams. Kyle has worked hand in hand with Chris Collins these past three years to build a nationally ranked midget program and we are thrilled to have him continue building the program that he and Chris started just a few years ago.

Chris Collins will continue to oversee all Roco midget teams as the head of player placement. Chris and Kyle will work collaboratively to assist all of our players in finding opportunities to enhance their hockey development at the next level.

Greg Collins will also be directly involved with all Roco teams as the head of player development.  Greg will oversee all on ice training to ensure that all Roco players continue to develop their skills as top level hockey players.

The Rochester Coalition is thrilled to have Kyle, Chris and Greg work collaboratively to ensure that all of our Roco players are given full opportunity to maximize their potential as hockey players!
