Rochester Edge seeking Associate Director
by posted 03/02/2012

The Rochester Edge is seeking an Associate Director for their Tier 1 travel program.  This is a volunteer position. The position reports to the Girls Travel director. Duties include participating and executing the hiring and development of Edge Coaches, tryout coordination, administration of all Edge rosters, eligibility compliance, jersey coordination, coordination of league liaisons, scheduling, and other duties assigned by the Rochester Youth Board. The Associate Director will be key coordinating volunteers to insure all tasks are completed both timely and accurately.

Excellent communication skills along with marketing and advertising skills are a plus. Prior leadership and administration skills are required. Although a playing and coaching background is not required, it is helpful.

This position should be looked at as a minimum three year commitment with transition into the Girls Travel Director position within that timeframe. The Associate Director is expected to attend all RYH Board Meetings along with holding meetings with managers, parents and coaches as needed.

The Associate Director will be a key player in organizational continuity and will be vital in relationship building and communications with other local and regional girls organizations. The Associate Director will also manage the implementation  of or new "EDGEucation" program that will assist girls on gaining the knowledge and skills needed to pursue hockey at the college level.

The Edge is a nationally recognized brand in competitive girls hockey.  The Edge achievements include 6 state championships in the last 5 years at both the Tier 1 and Tier 2 levels. We have hosted two National Championships along with capturing a silver medal in 2009 with our U14 team and a National Championship with our Women's A team. Graduates from the Edge continue to succeed at the NCAA Division 1 and III levels.
